Morocco student visa

The Moroccan visa process for students varies depending on which country you come from. You will need to find your nearest Moroccan consulate or embassy and find out from them the exact process and documents you need to submit and any changes in requirements.

The general requirements for a Moroccan study visa include a completed application form, a letter of admission from a Moroccan institution, a valid passport, and travel details.

You should also arrange for any required vaccinations like yellow fever before arriving in Morocco, especially if you are from a high-risk area. Due to the effects of the current COVID -19 pandemic, you may also have to present a COVID –free certificate.

Three types of Visa may be required in Morocco. These are the Tourist Visa, Transit Visa, and the Long-Term Visa. Students seeking to study in Morocco have to apply for the Long-term Visa.

The long-term visa for Morocco is issued to foreigners who want to enter Morocco for long-term purposes, be it for work, education, or staying with family members.

It is only valid for only three months but this type of visa allows the holder to apply for a Residency Card (Carte de Séjour). You cannot apply for residency if you enter on a Morocco Tourist Visa. The Moroccan long-term visa is divided into 3 different groups such as:

  • Morocco Work Visa- issued to foreigners who find a job in Morocco (a work permit is also needed)
  • Morocco Student Visa- issued to foreigners who want to pursue their studies in a Moroccan educational institution
  • Morocco Visa for Family Reunification- issued to foreigners wanting to join a family member who is living in Morocco.

Citizens of several Eastern, European, and African countries are exempted from Morocco visa requirements and can travel to Morocco without having to obtain a visa beforehand.

Note that Visa application may be accepted or denied by the relevant authorities
