Foreign nationals who intend to visit or sta in Mongolia must obtain the appropriate visas corresponding with the purpose of their visit. Nationals of those countries which have exemption agreements with Mongolia are not required to obtain a visa if the intended period of the visit is not beyond the agreed periods.
Citizens from the following countries can enter Mongolia without a visa and stay in the country for periods between 14 to 90 days: Argentina (up to 90 days), Belarus (up to 90 days), Brazil (up to 90 days), Canada (up to 30 days), Chile (up to 90 days), Cuba (up to 30 days), Germany (up to 30 days), Hong Kong (up to 14 days), Israel (up to 30 days), Japan (up to 30 days), Kazakhstan (up to 90 days), Kyrgyzstan (up to 90 days), Laos (up to 30 days), Macau (up to 90 days), Malaysia (up to 30 days), Philippines (up to 21 days), Russia (up to 30 days), Serbia (up to 90 days), Singapore (up to 30 days), Thailand (up to 30 days), Turkey (up to 30 days), Ukraine (up to 90 days if holding an official or private invitation), United States (up to 90 days), Uruguay (up to 30 days)
Types of Mongolan Visa include the :
- Mongolia Tourist Visa- this is for foreign nationals who want to visit Mongolia as tourists for a short period of time. A few nationalities are exempt from applying for a tourist visa.
- Mongolia Business Visa- This visa is issued to foreign travellers who will enter Mongolia for short-term business purposes, such as to attend a meeting, negotiations, etc. Mongolia Work Visa- this is a visa that allows you to work in Mongolia, but you will need to find an employer who can get authorization from the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Agency.
- Mongolia Student Visa- This type of visa will allow you to study in a higher education institution in Mongolia or to undergo vocational training or scientific research and studyin the country.
- Mongolia Family/Visit Visa- This visa is for foreign nationals who have a family members already in Mongolia and want to join or visit them.
- Mongolia Transit Visa- The transit visa allows travellers to spend up to 10 days in Mongolia if they are travelling through the country on their way to a third destination.

- Cover letter (letter to school mentioning the reasons why you want to learn Mongolian language for your planned duration)
- Copy of passport pages clearly showing the passport number, dates of issue, expiry, and name and date of birth.
- Your Passport must be valid for at least 12 months.
- Fill the application form of school
- Make study agreement with school
- Visa payment of 150 USD per person.
- Health certificates (includes HIV test)
- After sending all above mentioned documents and application is approved, Mongolian immigration department will send your invitation to the nearest Mongolian embassy in your country. Then you can get Mongolian entry visa from the embassy of Mongolia.
After your arrival in Mongolia, it needs to register at immigration office within 7 days.
