Mongolia has Several accommodation options for students. Whether you want a home away from home experience, and relaxed accommodation, styled apartment, modern apartment with a city or mountain view, or a homestay with locals, they are all available in Mongolia.
Apartments
There are several aprtments in Mongolia including those at Regency Residence, Ambassador tower, One Residence, and Hiimori Hotkhon, to mention but a few.
Most apartments come fully furnished, and are suitable for those who prioritze comfort,tidiness and serenity.Several apartments in Mongolia come fully furnished with beds, a couch, a television, TV stand, dining tables and chairs, coffee table, and a wardrob.
Student Residence
There is a Student’s dormitory for international students at the National University of Mongolia. There are five student dormitories one for international students and scholars with capacity of 160 students and four others for local students with a capacity of 1200 students.
The dormitory is a safe place to live and rooms are furnished. the dormitory for international students has limited number of rooms and earlier booking is advised.
International students should contact the Student and Alumni Affairs office and the office of university registrar in advance to arrange a room. Ccommodation is guaranteed for government funded students and incoming exchange students.
The self-funded students may apply for accommodation at dormitory in their first and second years. room facilities include a bed, A chair, adesk, a wardrobe, a bed set, ashared fridge between two rooms, and Shared facilities incude shared kitchen, shower and laundry.
The University of Finance and Economics offers accommodation to students whose primary residence is not Ulaanbaatar. The dormitory accommodates students from outside Ulaanbaatar and international students.
The rooms are usually occupied by two students and are furnished. The dormitory is very conveniently located across the road from the Institute of Finance and Economics. Supermarkets, convenience stores and restaurants are located nearby.
Homestays
Students can opt form a variety of homestays, a city homestay or a homestay with the nomads in the country. Staying with nomad families is the best way to discover the knowledge of the old nomadic lifestyle culture.
These gomestays could be 1-2 nights or even longer with one family or with different families living in different parts of Mongolia. Staying with the nomad family is mutually beneficial, as students can discover a unique way of life while feeling their heartwarming hospitality, this is also cost-effective for both nomad families and travelers alike.
While staying with the nomad families, students can eat and learn how to make the traditional meals, fresh dairy products, homemade cookies, pancakes, and bread, and so on.
City homestays provide students or travelers with some of the best services and facilities. Students can share the host family’s facilities including, wifi, furniture, they can enjoy shopping at the nearby malls, and patake in the family;s activities.
