University of the Mascareignes also known as Universite des Mascareignes (UdM) was established in 2012 and is the youngestpublic university in Mauritius. The university is under the support of Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology. The university is located in the city of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill in Mauritius. The university aims at promoting excellence in quality education.
Beau Bassin-Rose Hill, town, the second largest settlement on the island of Mauritius, in the western Indian Ocean. It lies on the western slope of the island, just south of Port Louis, the capital. The town was originally two separate communities, Beau Bassin and Rose Hill, but these have now merged into one, as a consequence of the rapidly increasing island population. The town is a busy market and shopping centre and a residential suburb. The town has evolved as a residential area with a high density of businesses, it remains an attractive place to live and work in.
