ITS is a novel institute of tourism and hospitality management with several programs and courses that dissects across the industry. The institute has foundation, certificate, diploma and degree programs and the tuition is sub-categorized into these levels.
Students from EU countries study full-time programs at ITS at no cost at all, however, part-time bachelor programs come with a tuition fee that can be paid periodically depending on the number of courses they add on in a semester.
International students from countries outside the EU are expected to pay these amounts per semester for 2019/2020* academic duration;

Furthermore, there is a scheme called ‘Get Qualified’ where students who pay their full tuition get a tax refund or credit from the government of Malta up to the tune of 70%.
Students studying full-time programs at ITS and do not hold any external employment alongside their studies are eligible to receive stipends from the institute.
Stipends are a means of supporting the students living expenses and encouraging them throughout the duration of their programs. Stipends are received at the end of the year and after every four weeks.
Interestingly students receiving stipends are also eligible for half of the amount that the government pays in tax refunds yearly.
Likewise, students who meet academic requirements and reach peak performance levels at the institute are eligible for a scholar’s grant of €233 every academic year for the expanse of their programs.

The institute of tourism studies was first founded in 1987 and serves as the premier Hospitality and Tourism academic training institution in Malta. ITS provides a very broad spectrum of programs and courses tailored to all the practices in the tourism, culinary and hospitality industry.
Courses at the ITS are delivered by world-renowned professional teachers and faculty members with significant success in their respective spheres. The institute boasts of two campus locations in the heart of the Maltese island.
One such is the main campus situated in Hal Luqa which houses all the various esoteric kitchens, laboratories and study halls which are not only updated to scale but also modern with the times.
The second campus is located in the Qala area of Gozo which serves as the academic wing of the institute housing all the classrooms, offices and study areas. ITS presently offers foundation, certificate, diploma, degree and, more recently master programs.
The institute holds high repute in the international community with academic affiliations with many world-leading institutions such as the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management rated amongst the best in the field, and also glorified Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Finland.

Students at ITS have compulsory internships abroad as a requirement for their program completion. The institute also collaborates with Institut Paul Bocuse in France bringing bachelor courses in culinary arts and hospitality management in Malta.

Institute of Tourism Studies Malta does not offer campus accommodation or dormitories, students can benefit from the array of private housing options in the city of Hal Luqa and Gozo. Housing is quite affordable in Malta.
Foreign students can rent apartments, private dormitories, and private homes in the country for a fairly reasonable price. The university assists her students to find off-campus accommodation that is in close proximity to the school and within the students' budget.
Typically, renting a room in a shared apartment would cost somewhere between €150 to €300 per month depending on many factors like the location, the facilities present and how modern the building is.
Private hostels and dormitories come at very cheap prices with top services like Wi-fi, laundry, cable tv, and furnishing. Hostels and Dorms around the city cost somewhere between €100 to €250 per month.
The university has several cafeterias and canteens present on campus, that caters to all the feeding needs of the students in the school premises. Fast-food chains are rampant in the city and a typical meal would cost €6 to €8 for one individual, selecting from a variety of local and international restaurants and kitchens.
Please note that buying food in grocery stores is generally cheaper, however, students might have to travel a short distance to find some very good stores that offer great discounts.
Malta has two main public transport systems, buses, and ferries. All the buses and ferries are very effective and easily accessible in Malta. Buses cost €1.50 for all the routes in the city for two hours. Additionally, student bus cards for transportation costs €26 for one month’s use.

Ferries any of the three major islands in Malta cost €1.50 for a single ticket and €2.80 for a day time return ticket. The nighttime ferries which start at 7 pm daily would cost you €1.75 for a single trip or would cost you €3.30 for a nighttime return trip. There are also transport tickets for three months and they cost approximately €100 and for a year €300.
