This international institute was established in June 2018. EDU is a private higher education institution with the aim of significantly improving the quality and accessibility of higher education. Kalkara is a small town with an area of 1.75 square kilometers and about 3,000 inhabitants. Kalkara is located in the east of Malta, overlooking Grand Harbor. In Roman times, the city had a lime kiln obtained from lime. Kalkara has two bays leading to Rinella Bay and Grand Harbor, also known as Kalkara Creek, and two peninsulas known as Bighi and Ricasoli.
Historians believe that the area of Kalkara was inhabited when the first people arrived in Malta from Sicily. The inlet seems to provide adequate protection from Mediterranean storms. Kalkara is known for building Maltese dgħajsa and barklor boats. Locals are actively involved in building their own boats in a traditional rowing competition known as a regatta.
