Once you have been granted a student visa, you will be able to stay in the Maldives for one academic year. After that, you will need to renew your student visa to continue your studies.

Upon acceptance to the university, you will need to apply for a student visa. If you desire to stay a few more days in the Maldives after the expiry of 30 days visa, you must file an application form requesting to extend your visa.

The Department of Immigration and Emigration approves your visa requirement and extends visa up to ninety days, only if you have enough funds and is staying in a resort or hotel.

Before departure from the Maldives, travelers except for diplomats and exempted travelers must fulfill all the requirements like paying airport departure tax.
