Tel Aviv University is the largest university in Israel and located in the defacto capital of Israel, Tel Aviv University was founded in 1956 and has over 30 thousand people enrolled into the university. The university is the highest ranked university in the country and one of the highest ranked in the world.

Hebrew University of Jerusalem is a public university locate in the aformentioned city of Jerusalem. The university is the second oldest university in the country and was established way before the establishment of the country.

Currently, due to its fast growing, the university has three compuses located respectively in Beer Sheva, Sde Boker, and Eilat.

The Ariel University was founded in 1982. The university has been fully accredited as a research university in 2012 and currently is considered the newest and youngest university in Israel. Though new, the university has immensely impacted the research outcomes in Israel.
