Scholarships in Ireland

International students can apply for the many scholarships available in Ireland after they have received an acceptance letter from an Irish Institution. Scholarships, Funds, and Grants are provided by the government and other private entities in the country as a means of supporting and encouraging students to reach for their full potential.

Universities also encourage its students with many scholarships, tuition, waivers, and grants as a means of rewarding their academic or general achievements. Some scholarships for international students in Ireland include;

Government of Ireland – International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES)

The higher education authority of the government of Ireland provides a scholarship for international students at bachelor, master and Ph.D. levels. This scholarship will be provided for a one-year study at all three levels of higher education to successful candidates who have been accepted into any eligible Irish institution.

This scholarship is open to students from Non-EU and EEA countries and applies to all fields of study. The scholarship provides a 10,000 Euro stipend for one-year of study and a full fee waiver of all tuition and other registration costs at the university.

    Griffith College: Cork Campus

    Griffith College was first established in Cork in 1998 with the School of Professional Accountancy. In June 2005, Griffith College Cork merged with Skerry’s College. Skerry’s College had been at the forefront of education in Cork since 1884. Griffith College Cork runs a variety of both full-time and part-time, undergraduate, postgraduate and Masters programmes in Law, Business, Journalism, Computing Science and Pharmaceutical Business Management as well as professional programmes in Law and Accountancy.     Griffith College: Limerick Campus

    In September 2006 Griffith College acquired the Mid West Business Institute (MWBI) and became Griffith College Limerick. The new entity carried forward the proud traditions and reputations of both institutions, which were founded in 1974 and 1988 respectively. The Limerick campus provides a wide range of full-time, part-time and blended learning programmes from its state-of the-art facility. The university was established in January 2021, the result of a merger between two institutes of technology, Cork Institute of Technology and IT Tralee. The Bishopstown Campus is the main centre, and is the location for courses in Business, Science, Computing, Engineering, Media Communications, and Humanities.

    Munster Technological University - Crawford College of Art & Design

    Munster Technological University or MTU is a multi-campus technological university (TU), consisting of six campuses in Cork and Kerry. The university was established in January 2021, the result of a merger between two institutes of technology, Cork Institute of Technology and IT Tralee. Its creation was announced in May 2020. It accommodates more than 18,000 students and over 2,000 members of staff. Crawford College of Art & Design is a self-contained College of MTU, located in Sharman Crawford Street, within easy walking distance of the city centre.

    Munster Technological University - Cork School of Music

    Munster Technological University or MTU is a multi-campus technological university (TU), consisting of six campuses in Cork and Kerry. The university was established in January 2021, the result of a merger between two institutes of technology, Cork Institute of Technology and IT Tralee. Its creation was announced in May 2020. Cork School of Music is a constituent school of MTU, located at Union Quay, Cork city, and provides Honours Degree programmes in Music, Theatre & Drama, and Popular Music. The School also has a wide range of MA and PhD degrees.

    Munster Technological University -National Maritime College of Ireland

    Munster Technological University or MTU is a multi-campus technological university (TU), consisting of six campuses in Cork and Kerry. The university was established in January 2021, the result of a merger between two institutes of technology, Cork Institute of Technology and IT Tralee. Its creation was announced in May 2020. The National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) is located on a 10 acre campus in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork and provides education services of the highest quality and includes Degree programmes in Nautical Science, Marine, Engineering, and Marine Electrotechnology.
