Faa’a International Airport
This is a public airport located on the island of Tahiti about 5km southwest of the capital Papeete. This is the international airport of French Polynesia which was officially opened in 1960. It is the hub for Air Tahiti Nui, the international carrier, and Air Tahiti the regional carrier. As of 2019, the airport handled about 40 368 aircraft movements and about 1 464 998 passengers. T
he airport serves both international and local flights. Air Tahiti has daily flights to other French Polynesian islands, one international flight to the cook islands, and several intercontinental flights to the united states of America, Chile, New Zealand, Canada, France, and Japan, to mention but a few. The airport has a bitumen surface of 3420m and can accommodate any aircraft up to Airbus A380, and Boeing 747 size.
Bora Bora Airport
This is a public airport also known as Motu Mute Airport, located on the Motu Mute Islet and serving Bora Bora. The airport served about 312 153 passengers as of 2018. The airport was opened in 1943 and has 2 runways, one asphalt measuring 1505m and a coral one of 914m. The airport is served by Air Tahiti traveling various cities.
Huahine Fare Airport
This is a public airport located in the commune of Fare, serving the island of Huahine. The airport has an asphalt surface of 1500m and served about 144 120 passengers as of 2018. It is served by Air Tahiti, traveling to destinations including Bora Bora, Moorea, Papeete, and Raiatea, to mention but a few.
Moorea Airport
This public airport isalso known as the Temae Airport, serving the island of Moorea. It is located about 15km away from the island of Tahiti and 7.5km from the village of Afareitu. It has one asphalt runway of 1237m. It is served by Air Tahiti, flying to other islands including Bora Bora, Huahine-Fare, Papeete, and Raiatea. As of 2009, the airport had about 14 360 aircraft movements and served 119 602 passengers.
Raiatea Airport
This is a public airport also known as Uturoa Airport, inaugurated in 1962, located on Raiatea.The airport officially started operating in 164, though it was inaugurated in 1962. As of 2018, the airport served about 245 302 passengers. It has an asphalt runway of 1200m. The airport is served by Air Tahiti with trips to Bora Bora, Huahine-Fare, Papeete, Moorea, and Papeete.
Rangiroa Airpor-
This is a public airport located on the island of Rangiroa, built-in 1965. It served about 89 122 passengers in 2018. It has an asphalt surface of 2100m. it is served by Air Tahiti, with daily flights to other islandsincluding Bora Bora, Fakarava, Manihi, Mataiva, Papeete, and Tinehau, to mention but a few.
