Citizens from Australia, Argentina, Bermuda, Canada, Brunei, Croatia, Czech Republic, Japan, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, the united states of America, and Uruguay can stay in French Polynesia without requiring a visa for up to one month.

To be eligible for or to apply for a French Polynesian Visa the following are a prerequisite.
- must have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival and with at least 1 blank page
- Have an acceptance letter from the enrolling university.
- They must also have a plane ticket and other travel itineraries.
- Proof of sufficient funding.
