Primary education in the Democratic Republic of Congo encompasses 6 years of study, from the age of 6 to 12 or 13 years. Primary education leads to a Primary School Certificate that will guarantee students’ progression into secondary education.

The Academy For English Education of Lubumbashi (AFEEL)

It is a private coeducational English school located in Lubumbashi. It offers education from the crèche to the 12th grade. The school looks after the all-round development of each child and offers individualized teaching in the following areas Intellectually, Socially, Emotionally, and Physically. The school seeks to provide students with a supportive learning environment and provide a sound general education of high standard for students.

Primary school here encompasses keys stages 1 (years 1 and 2) and key stage 2 (years 3 to 6). students here learn the principles of speaking, fluently, and confidently. Other skills gained include understanding the importance of diction and intonation, listening skills, concentration, remembering specific pieces of information, and recognizing simple sound patterns such as rhyme, among others.

Students are taught through a variety of activities including drama, singing, telling stories, reading, and reciting. In key stage 2, students build upon what they have learned in key stage 2. They learn how to plan, draft, revise, proofread and present a final product. They learn grammar, punctuation and spelling, complex sentences, clauses, phrases, word families, roots and origins of words, prefixes and suffixes, appropriate use of statements, question and command, word classes, and the grammatical functions of words, to mention but a few.

Curriculum- Nursery, pre-school, and kindergarten here are known as the Foundation Stage. lessons and activities here are designed to encourage the personal, social, and emotional development of students. They learn the basics of communication, language, mathematical development, understanding of the world, and physical and creative development.

    The University of Goma is a public university in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The university was estblished in 1993 and it is located in the city of Goma, near Lake Kivu in the east of the country.

However, the UPC has added a few courses of an ethical and theological nature. As such, it confers academic degrees (graduated, licensed, doctor). The objective of the Protestant University in Congo is to provide higher level education in order to train design executives, a national elite capable of responding to the needs of society and the Church.
