About Universities in Croatia for international students
There are about 10 universities in Croatia, 2 of which are privately owned while the rest are government universities. There is also a line up of other higher education institutions like colleges, polytechnics, and professional institutes.
There are 4 levels of academia in Croatia namely; Prvostupnik (Bachelors), Magistar (Masters of Science or Arts), Magistar Edukacijie (Master of Education), and Doktor (Doctor of Science or Arts).
The language of instruction for higher education is Croatian, but more and more universities offer international programs taught predominantly in English or another foreign language. International students from countries outside the EU/EEA differ from each university, the level of study, and the program of choice. The average tuition for undergraduate programs ranges from €850 to €2,200 for an academic year. These figures are subject to change every year depending on certain factors, but we will be sure to inform you as your application proceeds.
The cost for technical and ICT programs is somewhere between €2,000 and €3,200 for an academic year. Programs in science and medicine should cost around €3,900 for an academic year.
Public universities are free for citizens of EU/EEA member states but international students pay a tuition fee. Interestingly, these fees are significantly cheaper than you can expect to find anywhere else.
