Accommodation
International students in Croatia seek out private accommodation within their school area for easy access to the campus. Rental prices vary significantly on factors such as location within or outside the city center, the building type, the facilities available, etc.
In some cases, utilities such as electricity, water, heating, and wireless internet are included in the price of rent or billed separately. Landlords ask that payments should be every month or in an advance of six months.
Take advantage of our accommodation services to let us help you find suitable housing in Croatia long before you arrive. Our on-ground accommodation partners have several options tailored to your requests and budget and will be happy to guide you through making a decision.
Transportation
Croatia has a very efficient public transport system that consists of trains, trams, and buses. These services are fully operational all day and night, every few mınutes during the day and on the hour at night.
The tickets are sold on the bus for 10 HRK and at bus stops or news posts for 8 HRK. Daily tickets are also sold for 24 HRK which can carry you for the whole day regardless of the destination.
In big cities like Zagreb, there are monthly and yearly tickets sold at subsidized rates. Taxis are also ubiquitous within the city and are quite expensive in Zagreb or Dubrovnik and areas where tourists might frequent.
Food and Drinks
There are many restaurants, eateries, and fast-food franchises across the country, food prices are quite affordable anywhere and the portions are also very worth the price.
Students can expect to pay between 50 HRK to 150 HRK at any average to high scale restaurants within the city. The good thing about Croatia is that there are several student restaurants which have been dubbed ‘mensas’ scattered around major university cities, campuses, dormitories.
Students should possess an ‘Iksica’ to enjoy all the discounts reserved for students alone.
