Accommodation for Students In Croatia

Find Programs
(Bachelor's, Master's & PhD)

The majority of Croatian students reside close to where their university or institution is located or at proximity to the campus.

Some Croatian natives live at home with their guardians while other students choose to take up housing in campus dormitories for students or private accommodation around the area.

Private housing outside the university can be in the form of shared accommodation or apartments with other students, or as a guest lodging with a Croatian family.

International students have so many options for student housing in the country but new students yet to arrive must make important arrangements for their accommodation as early as possible.

Universities advise that all foreign students must already have suitable accommodation before they arrive in the country.

Thanks to our team and our diligent partners in Croatia, you will be informed about all your options and guided through finding the right accommodation.

Our accommodation services are thorough we offer some advice on student dormitories, off-campus accommodation, and lodgings, and we work with your budget and specificities.

Campus Dormitories

Dorm rooms are typically shared amongst two students and bathrooms shared with one or more rooms within the facility.

Student dormitories have canteens, cafeterias, gyms, student lounges, and other social functions that their students can socially express themselves.

Also, the price for a campus dorm varies from different institutions although they are ultimately the cheapest option when it comes to student accommodation in Croatia.

Campus dormitories at the majority of Croatia’s universities are extremely competitive for both local and international students alike, and as such a few universities do not offer any housing for students on campus.

Foreign students who have been accepted must signify as early as possible in their application that they require dormitory housing to be considered.

The local Student Services (Studenski Centar) manage the dormitory allocation on a first-come-first-serve basis contingent on the number of spaces available.

Private Housing

Several students in Croatia opt to stay in private student residences and apartments around their university area. There are many private apartments littered across many cities that offer accommodation to students at a range of rental prices.

Students can independently seek out their housing but must comply with the contracts or agreements with the homeowners.

For international students, all the necessary arrangements must begin at least one before you arrive in the country.

We assist our students in finding all kinds of accommodation that are available for them and we work with their specificities.

Rental cost for private housing

Rental prices in Croatia factor in certain things such as location, apartment type, within or outside the city center, and the town.

The average price that you can expect to pay for student accommodation are:

  • One bedroom in a shared apartment goes for €150 monthly
  • Studio apartment with private bathroom and kitchen goes for €250

In some cases, utilities such as electricity, water, heating, and wireless internet are included in the price of rent or billed separately. Landlords ask that payments should be every month or in an advance of six months.
