There are three types of visas required in cote d'Ivoire, that is a tourist visa, a business visa, and the official or diplomatic visa. Visa can be applied for at the embassy or diplomatic missions, or online. The online visa can be collected at the airport once approved.
It is valid for 90 days upon the issue. It is usually issued within 48 hours. A short-stay visa is valid for three months and a long-stay visa is valid for 6 months to a year.
Cote d’Ivore student visa
To be eligible for or to apply for a cote d'Ivoire Visa the following are a prerequisite.
- A valid passport, valid for 6 months, it has to have at least a blank page
- properly completed application forms with signature
- E-mail address- this will be used to send the pre-visa if you have applied online.
- 3 recent passport size photographs.
- International yellow fever vaccination certificates.
- Vaccinations against hepatitis A and B, typhoid, malaria, and rabies.
- Letter of invitation, for study and business visa.
- Proof of approved accommodation booking
- 2 copies of the travel itinerary
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover your stay
- Proof of acceptance into university in cote d'Ivoire.
- Contact details, and next of kin details or those of contact person in cote d'Ivoire.
Members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), are exempt from requiring a visa to travel to cote d'Ivoire. Some of the members include Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, and Sierra Leone. Other nations include Mauritania, Morocco, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, the Philippines, Seychelles, Singapore, and Tunisia, to mention but a few.
