Accommodation

An apartment in the city center in Comoros, furnished, costs KMF 227 554, and a 1 bedroom apartment outside of the city centre costs KMF 158 325. Travelers can choose from several options including hotels, motels, and homestays.

Shopping and Groceries

There are several shops where travelers can shop in Comoros. Some of the shops, malls, and markets include:

  • Koimbani Comoro

Transport- there are several transport options available on all islands in Comoros. Whether you prefer hitchhiking, taxis, boats, minibusses, and air transport, the list is open. Hitchhiking is very easy and can sometimes be free but some may charge you for the ride. To rent a car, you will pay about 5,000 KmF for a ride that would cost 300 KmF in a taxi, however, renting is more efficient if you want to experience the best of Comoros at your own time and pace.

Rental Cars- Hiring a car in Comoros will get where you want to go easily. There are various car hire options available in Comoros including Medcars, Europcar, Avis, and Thrifty You don’t have to follow set timetables or wait for transport to fill up. Car rentals provide a bit of convenience and guaranteed travel as compared to other forms of transport which can be canceled or rescheduled.

Minibusses- minibusses traveling to places like Chindoni and other southern places can be found just in front of the Hotel Karthala. These usually leave in the morning so you should be early.

Taxis- these can be found almost anywhere. You can also find some shared taxis near the Volo Volo market in Moroni. Private taxis to the airport cost around 15-20 Euros. Shared taxis are always available in Moroni for 300 KMF to anywhere in town and to towns like Iconi and Itsandra. Taxis between Hahaya airport and Moroni cost about 500 KMF. You can however expect to be charged 20 euros for the trip. Taxis to the east coast can be boarded near Gobadjou, in Moroni.

Planes- AB Aviation is a local airline that flies between the islands, though this can be a bit more expensive. It is however less reliable as they usually cancel flights and provide one flight per day.

Boats-you can find boats traveling around the islands.
