International students and foreigners intending to travel to chad need to have relevant information about the country's health care system. In 1987 the country had 4 hospitals, 44 smaller health centers, and 239 clinics. However, over the years the healthcare system has done little to improve.
Medical evacuation- students traveling to Chad need to have comprehensive cover that allows for evacuation in extreme cases. International SOS and EuropAssistance are the only two services in chad that provide medical evacuation.
Health Insurance- Travelers or foreigners going to Chad are advised to have health insurance that will cover their health costs and allow them to get treatment and also for evacuation in the case of a crisis.
