University of Burundi is the premier university in Burundi. Located in the capital Bujumbura, it has over 6 campuses spread across Bujumbura and the rest of the country. Founded in 1964, you won't find a more established university in the country.
International Leadership University (ILU) – Burundi is a private Christian and non denominational training institution fully recognized by the government of Burundi. ILU is a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ International. ILU-Burundi exists to educate men and women to provide leadership in Africa by spearheading spiritual, social and cultural transformation in Africa and beyond. The Integrated Polytechnic University (UPI) is a private university education establishment, recognized by the Burundian State. Its head office is established in Cibitoke in the province which bears the same name. It was set up by Asbl CEPROTA. UPI is organized into Faculties and Institutes.
