(Bachelor's, Master's & PhD)

RocApply dedicates this guide to students whose itch for shopping needs a tame. Bahrain has something perfect meant to satisfy the crave! The old souks and winding lanes of the country with its traditional mosques and inns have particular streets given to spices, gold, silverware, and crafts.

There're beautiful jewelry and perfume shops, filled with racks of blended oils and fragrances and wonderful spots.

The country is home to everything from mighty modern malls to traditional souks when it comes to shopping, meaning that the island is bound to cater to every taste. Shopping here Bahrain is much more than a pastime it is a way of life.

Fridays and Saturdays, the days that comprise the Gulf weekend, see commercial areas teeming with friends of all nationalities who are there for the bargains, the restaurants, and to meet and greet friends.

If the idea of haute couture and brand-name designers is appealing, then it seems like a new shopping center is opening every time and again. Each one is individual when it comes to layout, theme, and atmosphere.

Al Seef is among the biggest of all the island’s malls, while the nearby Al A’ali is not far behind in terms of scale. Bahrain Mall and Dana Mall are both found in the adjacent Sanabis region and house all the big names, and the Sitra Mall is a little further away from the main cluster.

The massive Bahrain City Centre is also a fully-equipped leisure complex with a multiplex cinema, two hotels, and a water park. At the other end of the spectrum, the traditional souks are as entertaining and provide just as wide a selection of merchandise.

Laidback and friendly, they offer as much of a tourist experience as they do bargains. The biggest and most popular is the Manama Souk, while the Muharraq Souk offers a true village atmosphere within the city.

The Iranian Souk in Isa Town offers a great selection of second-hand goods, chotchkies, and even has a captivating bird market. In Adilya, you will spot carpet merchants and a number of craft centers for local Bahraini handiwork.

From highbrow haute cuisine to cheap street food, there’s dining in Bahrain, especially Manama, to satisfy any palate. Most international-standard restaurants are housed in the many luxury hotels on the island.

When shopping in the local markets, feel free to bargain. If you want to get an idea of how much you should be paying, visit the state-run craft markets, which have steady rates. Shops here are mostly open from 7:30 a.m. to noon and from 2:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m on weekdays.

Most are closed at least once a week, usually on Fridays, but you will still find something open every day of the week. Carry your bag and go shop here without any fear or fret, we've got your back covered at RocApply.

"I enjoy shopping and I found it affordable but some of the clothes are definitely not of the highest quality." - Hassan from Turkey
