About University of Applied Arts Vienna

The University of Applied Arts Vienna accepts its responsibility to positively influence art, science and society. It constantly opens up and transcends the present towards the future. Lecturers and researchers, students, graduates, employees and partners form a collective that is committed to an open society and uses artistic and scientific competence as a key:
    • to invent new forms of work, education and art.
    • to create intellectual, creative freedom and ensure open-minded, critical and at the same time empathetic discourse.
    • to examine and evaluate societal challenges.
    • to develop radical solutions and new ideas for designing and managing technological, media and social change.
The upcoming complex challenges need cooperative and complex solutions. Instead of looking for simple answers, the university focuses on finding suitable new questions and on strategies that they constantly develop anew based on our specific actions.

    About Vienna

The city is also known for its Imperial palaces, including Schönbrunn, the Habsburgs’ summer residence. In the MuseumsQuartier district, historic and contemporary buildings display works by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and other artists.
