Tuition and Scholarships at Modul University Vienna

Due to the status of a private university, semester fees are due for each study program that are higher than for public universities.

The MU tuition fee per semester depends on the type of course and whether you are eligible for exemption. In addition to MU-specific exemptions and variable scholarships, there are more opportunities for external funding.

Installments or payments should be made each semester before the beginning of every semester. Each admitted student will receive a separate payment plan and admission document, which will apply for potential scholarships and waivers.

Pay your first educational expense following being accepted, ensure your position, and pay the academic fees and even enjoy early payment benefits.

The tuition fee only covers the cost of academic learning excluding housing and academic study facilities. For Non-EU students who will require a visa to come to Austria, Only after the first payment is received in full, the university can issue the documents required to obtain a student visa.

Tuition Reduction, Discounts, and Waivers

Early Bird Discounts:

We recommend using MU’s early payment discount to save on tuition fees and secure your place at the university. You can save up to a year of rent in a student residence based on your chosen study plan!

To qualify for an early payment waiver, please make sure to apply before mid-June of the fall semester and mid-November of the spring semester to allow enough time for the admission process.

Please note that the advance payment discount is applied only once and is deducted from the second term payment.

Austrian High School Graduates:

Candidates who will graduate or graduate from an Austrian high school will receive a tuition fee discount of EUR 10,000 for the three-year undergraduate program and EUR 15,000 for the four-year undergraduate program.

Discounts on Merit

The Admissions Committee can provide up to EUR 5,000 for excellent candidates with great academic promise. This grant is determined by the admissions committee and no additional application is required.

Siblings Discounts

Siblings of current MU students and Siblings who apply during the same application cycle are eligible to receive 20% off the total tuition fees from the university. This discount is given regardless of the study program and can be added with other scholarships or waivers.

Alumni Discounts

Students who complete their bachelor's education at MU, are eligible to receive a tuition discount for the entire duration of their graduate or post-graduate programs at the university.

Scholarships and Funding

High Achievers Scholarships

The Admissions Committee can reduce the total tuition fee of EUR 16,000for outstanding candidates, and make a decision based on previous educational performance, motivation and overall impression, work experience, interview performance, and academic ability. Applicants for all MBA programs will automatically receive the "High Achiever Scholarship".

Ph.D. Scholarships

Modul University strives to transfer knowledge and introduce new colleagues to the world of academic science. We want to encourage the options of future generations with innovative research conducted by young academics that meet the needs of the economy and society of future generations. Prospective subjects refer to the research focuses of our interdisciplinary faculty with an immediate application to the needs of industry and society. The subjects span the spectrum from the social to the individual level and fill the gap between various scientific fields such as economics and business, social and political sciences, and psychology.

Therefore, doctoral candidates who submit a research proposal on one of the following subjects can also apply for a scholarship. Successful applicants will be awarded a substantial discount or even a scholarship of up to 50% of their tuition fee of € 45,000.

Merit Scholarships

Based on academic achievements and extra-curricular participation, Modul University provides outstanding scholarships to students in all courses through the Ministry of Science, Research and Economy. According to StudFG in Austria, there are two types of merit scholarships: "Leistungsstipendium" and "Förderstipendium". Academic excellence scholarships (Leistungsstipendium) are available for outstanding students, and research support scholarships (Förderstipendium) are available to cover dissertation-related research costs for outstanding students.

Valedictorian Award

This scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest academic performance among all graduates (from all undergraduate programs) in a given academic year.

Hope Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students who contribute to the achievement of the university's sustainable development goals. Two types of practice are considered: articles and research proposals and project proposals. Ideally, the implementation should cover all three sustainability pillars, addressing relevant environmental, social, and economic issues.

About Modul University Vienna

Modul University in Vienna is an international private university located in Austria, affiliated with the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the largest private educational institution in Austria.

Student Clubs

As a new student in Vienna, you will not be bored or want activities to partake in, Modul University has so many student clubs that cater to different interests. In your first few weeks on campus, there is a student life fair where different club representatives are on hand for students to sign up. There are over 30 clubs or societies in MU, they include, Chess Club, Digital Media Club, Entrepreneur Club, News Club, Basketball Clubs, Wine Society, Social Club, and more. Students with similar interests or likes can come together and form their club under the university’s approval.

 Student Ambassador’s Scheme

The Modul University of Vienna offers students the opportunity to participate in the "Student Ambassador Program". The program aims to enable motivated students to participate in university marketing and recruitment activities. Selected students will not only help the Marketing and Recruitment (M&R) team stimulate the development of Modul University, but will also collect valuable work experience in marketing and sales.

Accommodation Modul University Vienna

On Campus Accomodation at Modul University Vienna

MU students live in private and university-organized accommodation. Like most other Austrian universities, MU does not have its own dormitory, instead, the university signed a contract with local private student accommodation providers in the area.

Modul University has partnered with three local private student accommodation providers to offer dormitory housing to its students - Wihast, Base 19, and The Fizz.

RocApply will assist you with all matters concerning housing in Vienna, for Modul students who have been recently been accepted, we advise that you book your accommodation early enough as spots are given on a first-come, first-serve system for all students. Dormitory rooms in any of the 3 facilities are provided for students who have reserved them prior.

Wihast is a Viennese student housing provider with dormitories distributed around the city. Module students only stay in the complex in the 20th district zone which is the closest to MU’s main campus. The rooms are a spacious double unit with a kitchen, bathroom, and a common space. All rooms are well furnished for student life.

Base 19 is another accommodation partner with MU situated in Vienna, in the 19th region, in a similar locale as Modul. Thus, it is strategically placed, and furthermore has an immediate association with the central part of Vienna.

Located in the 20th district of Vienna. Thanks to the ideal location between the Danube River and the Danube Canal, water and nature are always close by.

The location also provides excellent connections to local public transport networks and neighboring areas.

The cost for any of these housing options provided ranges between €305 to €465, paid monthly to the facility. This payment also mostly includes amenities like electricity, water, cooling, heating, cable TV, and wireless internet connection. All dormitories are well maintained and have proper security for 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Off Campus Accomodation at Modul University Vienna

Not all Modul students live in hostels provided by the university. Many people choose to live in private apartments or other student residences throughout the city.

Many MU students also live in student accommodation institutions such as The Student Hotel or Milestone.
