Secondary education in Angola starts at eleven and lasts for eight years. The secondary education system is divided into two cycles of three or four years each. Students may opt for a three-year course required to enter universities, or they may opt for a four-year technical education course. T

echnical education includes specialized education in areas including business, health, agriculture, fisheries, and mechanics, to mention but a few. The secondary education cycles or options are as follows: secondary education (Ensino Secundario 1 ciclo) 1st cycle encompasses grades 7 to 9,  secondary education 2nd cycle (Ensino Secundario 2 ciclo) encompasses grades 10 to 12 or 13 for general programs.

Green-ward International School

Is a Cambridge International School based in Luanda, Angola. There are eight subject groups in the middle year's program which students are required to study each year. These subject groups include The Arts (Drama, Music, and Visual Art), Individuals and Societies, Language and Literature (English, Portuguese, and Spanish), Language Acquisition (English, Portuguese, and Spanish), Mathematics, Physical and Health Education, Sciences, and Design.

the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program-this is a two-year Programme for students between the ages of 16-19. In this program, students are required to take six subjects, three at a higher level and three at a standard level. Subjects are selected from the following subject groups:

Group 1: Language A- English Language and Literature, Portuguese Language and Literature, and Self Taught Language and Literature

Group 2: Language Acquisition- English B, Portuguese B, Spanish B, and Spanish Ab initio

Group 3: Individuals and Societies- Economics, Environmental Systems and Societies, Geography, and History

Group 4: Sciences- biology, Chemistry, Design Technology, Environmental Systems and Societies, Physics, Sports Exercise, andHealth Science.

Group 5: Mathematics- Mathematics: Application and Interpretation, Mathematical Analysis and Approaches.

Group 6: Arts- Music, Theatre, and Visual arts.

One subject must be chosen from each of the first five groups whilst the sixth subject can be from group 6 or a second subject from groups 1 to 4.

This is an international school in Angola that offers an American style, innovative, and technology-driven education. it offers education from the Pre-Kindergarten level to the 12th grade. This school's calendar follows a northern system and begins in mid-Agust and ends in June. The school offers technology-based blended-learning classrooms and other technologically advanced facilities.

High School- the high school program encompasses grades 9 to 12 for children aged 14 to 17. High school students here must take five courses between each half of the academic year to be considered full-time. Students are exposed to various subjects and areas including specific English Language, Arts, Mathematics (Algebra and Geometry), science (Biology and physical science), social studies, fine arts, technical art, languages, and more.

Extracurricular activities- students are exposed to a variety of extracurricular activities including Sports camps, Science trips, Museums and cultural events, and various Competitions.
