Established in 2021, Western Balkans University (WBU) is a new and promising higher education institution in Tirana, with a fully English education and a special focus on Medicine, Medical Sciences, Technology, Economy and Innovation. Offering undergraduate and graduate programs, Western Balkans University aims for the highest quality standards at teaching and research process. Aldent University was founded by Prof Adem Alushi. Prof Alushi was graduated in 1981 with Summa Cum Laudem at the Faculty of Medicine in Tirana University. Aldent is a university specialized only in the medical field. This makes it possible to offer our students special attention and adequate space. The University is very well equipped with laboratories and it has available and appropriate means of teaching practical skills.

Epoka University is an international higher education institution located on a smart campus between the international connections and trading crossroads of Durres Port and Rinas Airport in Tirana, the capital of Albania. The University commenced academic activities during the 2007-2008 academic year in compliance with the provisions of the Albanian higher education legislation.

The University of New York Tirana (UNYT) was established in 2002 as a part of the New York College (NYC) Network of Educational Institutions and was the first private University in Albania. Situated in the heart of Tirana, the capital city of Albania, UNYT aspires to establish itself as a dynamic, multicultural, and leading center for higher education in the Balkans and beyond. 

Canadian Institute of Technology (CIT) also known as Kolegji Universitar “Instituti Kanadez i Teknologjisë” (KU “IKT”) was established in 2011. It is a young, dynamic, and a progressive higher education institution in Albania. CIT delivers its teaching programs in English and its curricula meet the requirements and standards of higher education in Europe and North America.

The Higher Agricultural Institute (HAI), which was founded on November 1st, 1951, was given the title Agricultural University of Tirana in 1991. (UBT). It is only 7 kilometres from the city centre and is situated on a hill covered in forest on the Northwestern outskirts of Tirana. Up until 1990, there were 6000 students and 480 professors enrolled in the university's four faculties, which included agronomy, agrarian economy, forest engineering, and veterinary medicine.

Universiteti I Sporteve t Tirans (Sports University of Tirana), a non-profit public higher education institution founded in 2010, is situated in the urban area of the significant city of Tirana (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants). Universiteti I Sporteve t Tirans (UST) is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 500-999 students) coeducational Albanian higher education institution. It is accredited by the Agjencia e Sigurimit t Cilsis n' Arsimin e Lart (Quality Assurance Agency in Higher Education).

The Armed Forces Academy is a military education institution in Albania that trains military officers. The school, known as "Shkolla e Oficerve," was founded in 1945 and closed in the early 1990s. It reopened in 1995 under the supervision of Germany's Military Academy in Hannover.

Universiteti Politeknik I Tirans (Polytechnic University of Tirana), founded in 1991, is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of Tirana (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants). Universiteti Politeknik I Tirans (UPT) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational Albanian higher education institution that is officially recognised by the Agjencia e Sigurimit t Cilsis n Arsimin e Lart (Quality Assurance Agency in Higher Education).
